MONCHIQUE

The charming town of Monchique, is characterized by its mysterious mountain and by the magic of its thermal spa waters.

The area around Monchique is perfect for walking or for riding a bike. Surrounded by flowers,it is called “the Algarve´s Garden”. The fresh air and the tranquility completes this wonderful area.

And then you cannot leave without visiting Fóia, the highest point in the Algarve, almost 1.000 meters in altitude. On clear days you will be able to see Saint Vincent's Cape (Sagres) and Serra da Arrábida (near Lisbon).

Going down the Mountain, if you have time,try the “Jardim das Oliveiras” Restaurant, where the Duck Roasted in a Wood Oven and the Pork bits with Corn Porridge and Clams is a local speciality.
